Skype Is Increasing Connection Fees

I just found out this sneaky bit of info at the Skype site. Skype just upped their connection fee from 3.9 ct to 7.9 ct! That's a 4 ct raise, about twice as much as I got at my job last year.

This new connection fee will be active from the 6th of September 2009!

Same thing that don't know where you live but if it's the US why don't you just get a landline or cell phone that has unlimited calls for free including long distance to Canada? And what's so sneaky about Skype posting a rate hike? At least they pre-posted it!

I'm not sure where you are but that's just for areas outside of the Global Rate destinations. There are still 38 countries where the rates are not changing.
