We recently bought a house and the previous owner left us a couch and recliner. The furniture has smoke, and dog odor that wont come out. We tried upholstery cleaner, and odor neutralizer sprays. None of this worked. Any suggestions? - Julie

I use baking soda formulated for kitty odors. It is sold in the pet food aisle and in the baking aisle. Powder your furniture with it, rub it around and let it sit as long as you can before vacuuming it off. Really works for us as we have lots of pets.

i have found that vinegar will get rid of the smoke smell and also dog or cat smell.. it might smell when you do it but when the vinegar dries it wont smell.. spray it on and maybe rub it in a little then let dry
