Apple-Nut Bars
Apple picking time
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/3 cup raisins
1 cup pecans, finely chopped
1 cup apples, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add remaining ingredients and blend well. Place the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake 40-50 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Cut into bars while still warm; however, not hot. Before serving, bars can be rolled in powdered sugar or spread with cream cheese frosting. Also can be served with whipped cream topping or serve plain as a great snack bar.
