Making Hot Chocolate Mix in a Jar?

I am making homemade gift jars for family this year. In one jar I am putting homemade hot chocolate mix and was thinking of adding marshmallows to the top! Will they dry out or cause the beverage mix to clump?

The marshmallows would add moisture to the beverage mix and could cause clumping so the best thing to do is dehydrate them first which is really easy. Just open the bag, spread them out on a baking sheet and place them in a cool dry place where they will be undisturbed for about a week. They are dehydrated enough when they are fairly difficult to press between your fingers. Once your gift recipients add the hot water or hot milk to the beverage mix the marshmallows with rehydrate :-)
