Some people have expressed an interested in hearing updates on how Stella is doing in Vietnam. She has started work at the orphanage and is looking forward to working with the children. She said that there are some basic supplies that they don't have, like diaper rash cream, we are going to try to arrange to send her some. She said there is a lot of work to be done there.
Thanks for reading,

| Picture Frame Earring Holder
By Kelli Mahoney A jewelry box is a nice place to put your earrings, but what if you have some favorite pairs that you wear all the time. I got tired of digging through my earrings to find the pairs, so I made picture frame that could hold my earrings in a decorative manner. A friend of mine loved the idea so much that she asked me to make this one for her daughter.

| Handprint Lily
Here's a nice craft for little ones to do at Easter using their own handprint. All you need is:
I typed up the poem on my printshop and put a frame around it. "My Handprint Lily"
A piece of me I give to you, After you get your poem printed out you can glue it to your black paper. Take your white paper and trace the child's hand. Cut it out and curl each of the fingers around a pencil. Then using the palm of the handprint, form a cone with the fingers curling out. Tape the flower together. Then twist your green and yellow pipe cleaners together. The green is for the stem and the yellow is for the inside of the lily. Put your pipe cleaners inside your lily. Then you can hot glue your flower on the paper. Glue on the leaves. On the back I found a story about Easter Lilies on the internet and glued it on the back. It says: Easter Lilies The beautiful trumpet-shaped white flowers symbolize purity, virtue, innocence, hope and life- the spiritual essence of Easter. Often called the "white-robed apostles of hope." Lilies were found growing in the Garden of Gethsemane after Christ's agony. Tradition has it that the beautiful white lilies sprung up where drops of Christ's sweat fell to the ground in his final hours of sorrow and deep distress. Churches continue this tradition at Easter time by surrounding their alters and crosses with masses of Easter Lilies to commemorate the ressurection of Jesus Christ and hope of life everlasting.

| More Light in a Dark Apartment
Our new apartment is nice - but dark - so I have been collecting mirrors of different kinds to arrange on the walls. I have 5 little ones grouped together in a narrow space and others of different sizes around the room to reflect the light, along with a large one on one wall. I also positioned light-colored pictures with glass to bounce back as much light as possible. I've gotten most of them in thrift shops, so it hasn't been too costly and it really makes a difference. | Five Things You Should Be Doing but Probably Aren't
By Kelly Ann Butterbaugh People hate to think about negative things happening, but it's a fact of life that they happen. The more people prepare for unfortunate events the less stressful these times will be. Here are five simple things that you probably aren't doing but need to be. 1. Photocopy credit cards. If your credit card were lost or stolen, could you quickly find the number to call to report it? Most cards have these numbers printed on the back of them, but that doesn't do much good when they're missing. Instead, photocopy the front and back of each credit card and store the copy in a folder labeled "wallet." Simply lay all the cards face down on a scanner and then made a copy. Then, flip them over and copy the backsides. Now, if something happens to the cards, you can easily locate all the information you need such as the number to call to report the lost card as well as the account number on the card. 2. Make a list of everything in your wallet/purse. Having to report lost cards is a nuisance, but remembering everything that was lost is difficult. List all the items such as library cards, ID cards, medications, and other information that you carry regularly. This will make replacement easier, and seldom used items won't be forgotten. File this list in the folder marked "wallet" along with the credit card copies. 3. Leave document copies behind when you travel. Even if you're taking a short trip, leave personal information with a family member or at least let someone know where to find it. In case an emergency would arise or your wallet would be lost while traveling, someone can contact you with the information that you'll need to report the loss. Make a copy of your driver's license and passport to include in this folder as well. Travel agents warn not to carry passports with you while sightseeing or shopping; instead, make a color copy and carry that instead. 4. Program personal information into your cell phone. It's a good idea to keep an emergency contact card in your wallet, but add the information to your cell phone as well. When assisting unconscious accident victims emergency personnel look in cellular phones for information about the person such as home number, emergency contact information, and even the person's name. Program such information into the phone's address book under the title "self" or "emergency contact." 5. Shred documents. If you're not already shredding documents, you need to start. According to the Federal Trade Commission identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes with 9.9 million reported victims last year. With information that is readily available on items such as utility bills and bank statements, a "dumpster diver" can easily assume your identity and begin fraudulent actions. Shred anything with your name, address, or any other important information. By dedicating an hour or so to completing these five simple tasks, a disastrous day might transform into a simply bad day. | Buying Large Cans of Tomato Paste
I buy the larger, more economical can of tomato paste and then measure it out by tablespoons onto a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Freeze until solid and then put the tablespoons of tomato paste into a ziploc bag in your freezer. You'll always have tomato paste for your recipe and it's pre-measured and ready to go! | Finding Silver Jewelry at Thrift Shops
I like to look for deals on jewelry in thrift shops. Years ago silver was an inexpensive metal, so there is actually silver jewelry which ends up there. You can tell it is silver rather than nickel by the distinctive SMELL of the silver oxide. (Put your nose to something silver you have at home to recognize the odor.) I have gotten a beautiful silver bracelet (which was BLACK with tarnish) at a thrift shop for $1! (the better sterling silver pieces also may be marked as such.) Post Feedback: Click Here |

| Marinading Chicken Breasts with Leftover Dressing
I buy various salad dressings when they go on sale. That leaves me with almost-empty bottles accumulating in the fridge. When I accumulate enough varieties of dressings, I buy a huge pack of chicken breasts on sale, section them into regular serving sizes, put them into individual plastic zipper bags and pour in the dressing. Then I freeze the individual baggies until the day before I'm going to use them. I put them in the fridge to defrost, and they marinate at the same time. I either bake them or I toss them on the George Foreman grill, and they are moist and delicious. They taste different every time, too, so we never get bored. Post Feedback: Click Here |
| Cooking Chicken Livers Without Splattering
Do you love to eat chicken livers, but hate the mess they make while cooking? Before cooking, poke the livers with a fork a few times, this will stop them from "Popping", and splattering oil all over the place. Post Feedback: Click Here |

| Keeping Pencil Holder from Breaking Pencils
If you get tired of pencil tips breaking and ink pen tips getting messed up in your Pencil Holder, try this: get a cheap cleaning sponge from the dollar store and cut it to fit in the bottom of your Pencil Holder. Make sure to get a thin sponge especially if your Pencil Holder is a short one. Sponges are also great to soak up any ink from broken pens and they're cheap to replace. Post Feedback: Click Here |

| Help With a Jealous Dog
I have a 5 year old lab ridgeback mix named Bubba and a 4 year old standard schnauzer named Harley. I found both of them, they are great companions for me and I love them dearly. Harley attacks Bubba as they are going outside or if Bubba comes to me for pets and scratches. I have tried the techniques suggested by the Dog Whisperer and I have talked tough to him. He thinks this is all part of a game and waits to get Bubba the next time. What can I do? Post Feedback: Click Here |

| Painting Brass
I have some brass and upholstered kitchen chairs (from the 1980s) that are extremely comfortable. They swivel and rock, are well constructed, and are still in sound condition but the brass is out of style and the upholstery is beginning to look worn. I don't want to give them up when we move to our new house. I can handle the reupholstery but does anyone know of a paint product that I can use on the metal parts to update their appearance? Thanks!
