Another easy and cheap garland is a popcorn garland. String popcorn together using a large needle and thread (or fishing line). You can add a little color by mixing in some raw cranberries.

How do you keep it from attracting mice? I live in the country and this could be a problem.

Make the popcorn the day before you string, the "stale" popcorn doesn't crack and break when you string. I learned that last year BEFORE I strung some popcorn, saved me!
