Odors on an Area Rug

I need to get the smell out of my area rug. The dog pooped on it.

Are you able to wash it in a washing machine? Or maybe hang it outside and wash it with water. Also try a pet stain removing product.

Try Nature's Miracle. Pet stores have it. It works on the enzymes and doesn't just mask the odor. Years of experience make me say this.
