they sell snippers in the hardware store so you can score them and cut them yourself

You can try a hardware store.

Here's a website that shows how to cut glass. It's really easy, and all you need is a glass cutter which is inexpensive and can be foun in the hardware store or a craft section of a department store like Walmart. You don't need special snippers.

If you don't want to try cutting it yourself, the other option is to take your glass to a local hardware store that sells glass cut to order, and ask nicely if they would be willing to cut your glass for you. They probably won't charge much, but they usually like to sell you the glass! :-)

If that's not an option, do the same at a local picture framing shop and ask if they can cut your glass.

Or if you know a glass artist (stained, fused, etc.) in your area, they may be able to do it for you, hopefully inexpensively.
