Indian Casserole


  • 1 can hominy (drained)
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped green peppers
  • 1 3/4 cup canned, chopped tomatoes
  • Ad
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 cup grated cheese


Brown beef, onions, green pepper. Add tomatoes and hominy. Pour into buttered casserole. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes. Remove casserole from oven. Sprinkle cheese on top. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes longer.

Could you tell me please, what is hominy?
