Paper Towels for Picnics |
|
|
Paper towels at a picnic work better than napkins, just screw a paper towel holder under the table on a end. Then you can just "pop" a roll on holder when dining in the out of doors and the roll of paper towels stays dry/clean and won't blow away with the wind.

RE: Paper Towels for Picnics
Try micro-fiber cloths instead of paper towel or napkins. As long as you don't ruin them with fabric softener or a dryer, you can re-use them many thousands of times. A 12" x 12" microfiber cloth will soak up a cup of liquid. How much paper would you have to waste for that ? Burn a hole with a cigarette or a soldering iron near a corner, or put a tent grommet there, then you can string a whole bunch of them on a rope, mist them with some organic cleaner and hang them into the creek or behind a boat. They will be clean shortly.
Microfiber cloth works OK when dry, but it is most effective if you wet it and then wring it out REALLY hard.
Ketchup and hamburger fixings come off a pure white pullover quite nicely. You'll barely see a damp spot. Paper towel would just rub it in and make a mess.
