Tape a piece of paper on the inside of the cupboard. Divide it into spaces for lists: cleaning supplies, canned goods, bathroom, other. When you remove the last bag/can/box of food, write it on the paper in the appropriate space. When you think of something you want or need, write it on the paper.

When you are ready to go to the store, simply remove the list from the cupboard door. You don't have to waste time making a list and wondering if you missed something. Also the list is in order for the grocery store which makes shopping not only easier, but faster. And, if you stick to the list you will save money because you are not getting extras.

Tape a new piece of paper to start the next list as soon as you restock the shelves.
