Clean Out the Dryer's Lint Trap |
|
|
Be sure to clean out your dryer's lint trap, after each use. Forgetting to do so, might cause a fire. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Chipmunks, mice, small red squirrels etc stored nuts in our dreyer vent hose. So make sure you buy a cover of some type. Ours is like a heavy screen keeps them out of the dreyer vent pipe from outside.
RE: Clean Out the Dryer's Lint Trap
The lint trap is not the only place lint can cause a fire. Aside from the obvious vent hose, the inside of the back of your dryer can accumulate a lot of lint, even if your lint filter is inside the door of your dryer. I learned this when our dryer caught fire due to this very thing (thank God for smoke detectors). The repair person told me it was a common cause of dryer fires because people didn't clean the area since they weren't aware of the problem. I keep an eye on mine now.

If you fabric softener sheets, wash the lint trap in hot soapy water about once a month. The softener can put a coating on the trap, causing it to be less efficient.
