- 2 1/2-3 lb. chicken, cut into serving pieces
- 1/4 lb. onions, sliced
- 1 tsp. ginger or ginger root, chopped
- 1/4 tsp. chopped garlic
- 5 cardamom seeds
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/4 lb. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 carton plain yogurt, opt.
- 1 Tbsp. sugar, opt.
Mix all ingredients together. Cook together in covered pot over low heat for 30 minutes or until chicken is tender. If additional liquid is desired, add a little water or yogurt.
