from info perhaps Portuguese water dog? Don't really know bout breeds much but do know your "friend" is so beautiful and wonderful shiny coat.
My "heartbeat at my feet" is a pug.

I would say your dog is mostly Lab, with maybe some Pointer mixed in. He looks very much like a Lab, and I would say that's the dominant gene. A lovely dog whatever he is. Leah.
