While travelling in the western US, someone recommended that we go to Palo Duro Canyon in Texas. We'd never heard of it, but it is the second largest canyon in the country after the Grand Canyon. It was spectacular, colorful, and well worth the detour. It's located in the Panhandle region of Texas.
