We are contemplating replacing some kitchen chairs. The replacements are of birch or ash from Chair King. How sturdy are these woods?

While birch wood is pretty, however ash is the best as it doesn't warp.

I don't know about birch but baseball bats are made of ash so it must be a very hard and tough wood.
