2 lb. ground beef or 1 lb. ground beef and 1 lb. Italian sausage
1 clove garlic
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. oregano
5 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
1 can tomato paste (6 oz.)
6 oz. water
2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz. size)
9 lasagna noodles
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cup cottage cheese
Directions
Brown ground beef and onion. Slices garlic and add salt, pepper, oregano, parsley, tomato paste, water and tomato sauce to meat. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. Cook lasagna noodles as label directs. Drain and cover with cold water. In large baking dish, arrange layer of meat sauce, then 3 lasagna noodles, layer of cheddar cheese and a layer of cottage cheese. Repeat layers and end with cheddar cheese on top. Bake in preheated oven, 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before cutting into squares to serve.
I know you have had different lasagna recipes here. Some time assemble the lasagna the day before, or morning of cooking it using UNCOOKED lasagne noodles. Your lasagna will be nice and firm the way left over lasagna usually is. I have been doing this for years. Tried it the first time when I was cooking lasagna for 24 members of a school tennis team.
