What is Hot Composting, Hot Pile?

Hot composting is a method of composting that produces heat. It takes a minimum of 1 cubic yard of material to start the pile, a blend of greens and browns (C: N ratios), proper moisture content and frequent turning to provide aeration. It is faster than cold composting.
