Hi there! My son just got his Eagle Award in Boy Scouts, and I am planning a large ceremony and reception for him, to be held Sat., August 14th, only a bit over 2 weeks away!
Anyhow, I really need some great, but easy, punch recipes that taste delicious but are still easy (and not expensive!) to make. This whole thing is getting very expensive!
Sure would appreciate any and all help!
Thanks so much!

1 gal of Hawaiian Punch
2 - 2 liter bottles of cheap lemon-lime soda
1 quart of orange juice

(you can use the frozen concentrate OJ and mix it up yourself to save $. You may be able to find frozen concentrate Hawaiian Punch, too.)

I personally do not like the "fuzzy" effect that sherbet leaves on the surface of the punch, so I freeze a 1/2 gallon carton of juice -- any kind -- and then when I mix up the punch, I cut the carton off and use the frozen juice as an ice block. As it melts, it actually adds to the flavor!

You can "stretch" this recipe by adding more lemon-lime soda.

Congratulations to your son! Eagle Scout is a great accomplishment!

The easiest punch I know (and has less sugars) is to make a gallon of Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger tea and add apple juice, preferably the natural unfiltered kind.

Use about 2 oz. apple juice to every 8 oz. Red Zinger tea.

I take 2 koolaid packets (for a gallon of juice) you can use the unsweetened and add your own sugar or use the pre-sweetened without the mess of measuring the sugar. Add 1 can of pineapple juice less if you want to cut down on the flavor and then add 1 bottle of gingerale, or sprint or 7-up. Fast easy and not too expensive, you can also use generic store brands of all the ingredients. Of course you can make an ice ring or icecubes to add for coolness and add something like cleaned ivy or other decorations to make stand out. We have found that our most favorite flavor is lime koolaid, but any flavor if fine and with kids you can make 2 different flavors for two different bowl.

Also, since this is for the Eagle Scouts, simply call ahead to your grocery store and ask for the manager, he will probably donate all the ingredients if not just some. It is better to call ahead so you will have his permission before you go incase he is not there when you are ready to shop.

Also, If you go to your local McDonalds, we have had punch drink donated with a dispenser to go with it. Go for donations, I plan a lot of community events for local troops and other things and the companies are more than happy to help out. It never hurts to ask.

Good Luck and have fun, May God bless you for taking on this event. It will make the boys so happy.

I usually just use 2 cans of fruit punch concentrate, a bottle of gingerale and a can of pineapple rings with the juice.

Lemonade Punch

Crystal Lite Lemonade
Ginger Ale
Strawberries, Oranges, Limes (Slice to make ice ring)

Mix the lemonade as directed. Pour punch bowl half full then finish off with ginger ale. The fruit can be frozen in half lemonade/half ginger ale to make ring. The fruit really adds color and also taste! We made it for a birthday party recently and everyone liked it, young and old. Not really expensive either.
Enjoy!
