Removing Grease from a Fabric Purse

Not sure of your purse''s finish, but my mother used to use plain corn meal to clean suede items. The corn meal will lighten but it may be your last option before hiding the purse in a drawer or garbage can. Another option may be to take it to a cleaner's and discuss it with them.
