Also, before painting take the cabinets off the wall, as it will be easier to get to all the odd places. I framed them to hang on each side of a wreath because I put vegetable curtains up in the summer. The one has carrots and the other has tomatoes on it.the background is off white and I painted the picture frames in a dark forest green. It looks really nice. You could also use Aluminum paint to give them a stainless steel look! The cabinets are oak. What about painting yours a medium golden brown? Instead of thinking of the colors as cream or beige, think of them as "mayonnaise" or "bread". They always look good with tomato.
