Melt chocolate chips over low heat, then add sweetened condensed milk. Pour into crust; sprinkle with pecans. Mix cold milk and instant pudding until well blended and pour onto pecans. Top with topping. Garnish with chocolate syrup or chocolate curls.

Thank you, Robin!! Once again you have saved my life, in the culinary sense. I have pie duty for the family thanksgiving. Rule: 1 pumpkin pie and 1 "fab mystery pie".
