I'm going back to school and need some ideas on a good bag to get.
Also, is it a good idea to get a laptop backpack instead of carrying a laptop bag around? I'm just worried that it will damage my laptop.

My laptop bag (not backpack) is extra padded to protect the laptop. I recommend something that is padded and easy for you to carry, whatever your lifestyle is.

I took an older backpack that I loved and converted it into a laptop backpack -- All you really need is to find a backpack that you like and fits your laptop, A length of elastic (the length will depend on your computer and some velcro (both available at dollar stores). I attached elastic tight across the back of the pack with fishing line and then cut the elastic in the middle, attached the velcro to each end of the elastic and had a nice place to secure the laptop in my bag.

I also know that Jansport makes an awesome messager type laptop carrier that holds alot of stuff too! My sister got one for school that she loves! Check ebags.com!

Good Luck to you!
