Some paper work caught fire while doing the bills in the kitchen (yes stupid i know!) and the nearest place to move the flame safely was the kitchen sink. Before I had a chance to turn on the water the flames had scorched some of the sides leaving black and brown burn marks on the sink. I've tried using wirewool to remove the marks but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Benno from London (U.K.)

Really you should pay those bills not burn them. Sorry just had to add that.

Have you tried asking your local fire brigade or maybe a restaurant's chef? I am sure both have dealt with fire in sinks before (although the latter may not admit it). I think perhaps if you are earnest you may get an answer we have not suggested yet. Good Luck.

Try using a scouring powder such as Zud or Barkeeper's Friend - not sure if they are available in the U.K. Otherwise another brand of powdered cleanser might help. Good Luck!
