The best potato scrubber I've ever used is the Scotch brand green scrubbies (the ones without soap). They really clean the potato, don't leave any residue and they are cheap to use (can be used until they practically fall apart).
I have a fingernail brush just for cleaning potatoes,I run them under cold water and scrub the skins as well as the eyes.works beautifully.
