Effusion Lamp Keeps Burning Out

Why does the fragrance evaporate and then the lamp goes out on my effusion lamp?

I can't answer the why, but I can add that mine does that after about 4 uses of the stone/wick combo. It doesn't matter what brand of replacement stone/wick, or alcohol oil that I buy, they only last thru about 4 uses.
