Hi Fay and Grandma Bess,
I tried the banana bread sandwich with the chicken salad, heavenly.
Also tried the cottage cheese and tomato, my mouth is watering just thinking about this. I will try the fruit next. Thank you!
Ellen
My favorite accompaniment to serve with chicken salad is a banana bread sandwich. Spread one slice of banana bread with soft cream cheese. Cover with another slice of banana bread. Cut in half. Add a fruit salad, and you have a nice and tasty lunch.
Might I ask your recipe for chicken salad? Since it is the best. Thanks!
How about just tomatoes or cottage cheese? I
like pea salaad too. 1 small can peas, 2 T. chopped
onion, 1/4 c. American cheese cut in small pieces,
2T. Mayo ( more if needed) and 2T. sugar. Mix all
together and chill. How about about just a green salad?
Would love to see your sisters recipe. We love
recipes!. J. Bess
Fruit is great with chicken salad - grapes, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, apples, kiwi, strawberries, etc.
Or, if you can find good fresh tomatoes, cut one in quarters almost all the way through. Spread the quarters apart and serve the chicken salad in the middle.
No :), I use my sisters recipe for chicken salad. It's the best! What I need to know is, What foods go best to eat (with) chicken salad. Like hambergers and (fries). Ellen
Do you mean things to mix in? If so: peanuts, walnuts, almonds, pecans. Grapes, pineapple chunks, orange slices, chopped apples. Oyster crackers, chow mein noodles, pretzel sticks(broken). Pumpkin or sunflower seeds(shelled).
Bacon bits, cheese cubes.
