Cheaper Musical Talent For Your Wedding

By Melissa Barrow
Want a good musician but worry about costs? Check out a local college music scene.

I played weddings as a flute/music education major in college. I did it for much cheaper than what anybody else out there was quoting, sometimes I even did it for free. I was happy just to get a decent meal outside of the dorms!

College majors need the performance experience and would love to add your wedding as resume experience.

College buildings have boards where you could post an ad asking for musicians. Also stop around and talk to students. They would be happy to help. Word of mouth works wonders.

Also do a google search for musicians.

Have a happy wedding!

Thanks for the idea. My son's wedding is in June and I'll mention it to him and his fiancee. And will keep it in mind for my Daughter when she is planning her wedding.
