Toothpicks for Corn on the Cob

I opened the jar of my corn holders to serve for the first corn of the season to find them molded! They must have been stored wet last year. My fault, I'm sure. I threw them away, and quickly and creatively thought up a pretty good replacement.

I grabbed the toothpick holder! I stuck a couple of toothpicks in the opposite end of the stalk end and had myself a nifty corn holder. I may not even replace the corn holders.

Just curious, why didn't you simply fill the jar with bleach to remove the mold then wash in hot soapy water?

What a great idea; I can't eat the corn like I did before because of caps on my teeth & bridges but others in the household will love the idea. I never seem to have enough holders. (I miss my corn on the cob, really loved it.)

Thanks for the great idea.

Glowormglo: You can cut the kernels off of the cob and still have that "corn on the cob" taste.
