Ross Stores Recalls Turtle Sprinklers Due to Laceration Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Turtle Sprinklers

Units: About 1,800

Importer: Ross Stores Inc., Pleasanton, Calif.

Hazard: The turtle's body can fill with water, causing it to crack or explode, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received one report of the turtle sprinkler cracking. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The turtle sprinkler is made of plastic resin and measures about 6 -inches tall. The SKU number 400022708494 is printed on a label located on the underside of the sprinkler.

Sold at: Ross Stores and dd's Discounts nationwide from March 2007 through September 2007 for about $9.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the sprinkler immediately, and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
