Use Same Colored Primer For Painting Dark Walls

When you are faced with painting walls that are a dark colour, instead of painting the walls with just white Primer, add the same colour in the Primer that you intend to paint the walls. This will save a lot of time and money in painting the walls a second or even a third coat.

Something we learned te very hard way (5 coats of paint later) is that when you are painting a room a deep red color, use a gray primer. We thought we were being clever by mixing some of the red in with a white primer (holy pepto-bismol!) but it didn't work at ALL. We later learned that you're supposed to use gray. I never would have guessed.

EXCELLENT tip Linda! I've painted a lot over the years.
I could have really benefited from this tip! Sister plans
to do some painting in her home. Can't wait to share the tip!
