My daughter's wedding reception is May 16, 2009. Where can I find dinner rolls, enough to feed 200-250 people for the reception?

I did the food for a young woman's wedding on a VERY tight budget. We got the rolls the day before at a day-old bread store. To make sure you can get enough, look up all of the stores in your area. Then you can call early and ask them to hold them for you.

Give this job to someone who offers to help.

We didn't use as many as we thought, not nearly one per person. The food was served buffet style.
The baskets looked nice with more than one kind of rolls in them.

If you put the rolls and salad on the tables, you would need one per person.

Sam's and Walmart takes special orders, as will many grocery stores with bakeries. A store like IGA will probably talk to the bread delivery men (if you want pre-made rolls) to make sure you get the quantity you need.

How about the food warehouses: Costco's or Sam's? Same for extra cake, veggies, crackers, etc.

For several years, my daughter who is a teacher in our local elementary school has ordered the best rolls from the school cafeteria. These come frozen in a case of about 12 dozen, I think, and are very reasonably priced. So if you have any connection with anyone in your local school, they might be able to order rolls for you.

Someone just recently posted that they were able to get a decorated cake for free or a very low price at a culinary school.
If you live near such a school you might be able to able to get bulk dinner rolls at a very cheap price to feed all the guests. Another suggestion would be to contact a discount bread store such as Dolly Madison and see if you can order dinner rolls in bulk.

Several school cafeterias in our area sell pans of homemade rolls, pans of dressing, and desserts as a fundraiser. There are also church groups that do this at a reasonable price, as well as individuals who want to supplement a fixed income. I would inquire with friends and relatives about this, and call schools etc. Best of luck!

Whenever we need a large quantity of rolls we order them from the local grocery store's bakery. Ask how far in advance you need to place the order and you can usualy pick them up the day of the event!
