Oscar (Turkish Van)
Oscar (Turkish Van)
This is Oscar. We are guessing he is about 4 years old. We think he may be a Turkish Van cat. He certainly fits the description and had the loyal, dog-like personality. We took him in when he was about 9 months old. He had been thrown from a car and abandoned. He weighed only 3 pounds and was very sick. We took him to the vet and spent a lot of money and TLC nursing him back to health.

Oscar loves his catnip and loves to play with his cat toys. Every night in the summer, he goes for a walk around the property border. He loves to have his belly rubbed. He is one lucky kitty and I think he knows it!

Turkish Vans are noted for their love of water! I recently watched a special on Animal Planet about how they do anything to get to water. There was one lady on there who actually had to have a behavorialist come in to prevent the cat from swimming in the commode, jumping in the shower and dish water. Anytime there was water around, that cat was in it. They finally got that kitty her own rather large water fountain. Oscar is beautiful! Good luck with him.
