Fishing for your Information

With online banking and payments becoming very common, the crooks are using that against us.

For the last year, many spammers are fishing for your banking and PayPal information by using emails. The messages can look just like they come from your bank or from PayPal. They take you to a site that looks exactly like your banking, credit card or PayPal site but when you fill in your username and password, they record it and can access your accounts.

One good rule of thumb is if you receive a message from your bank, credit card company or from PayPal, do not click on the links in the email. Login where you normally do and see if there is a message for you there. There may be a message there about phony messages being sent in their name.

NEVER send your username and password in response to an email. Your bank, credit card company or PayPal will never ask for it.
