Frozen Coleslaw

Ingredients:

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 Tbsp. pickling salt
  • 1 red sweet pepper
  • 1 green sweet pepper
Syrup:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp. mustard seed
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed

Directions:

Shred veggies and sprinkle with the salt. Let stand 1-2 hours. Do not drain. Bring syrup ingredients to a boil while stirring. Pour syrup over slaw and refrigerate 10 days to 2 weeks. Good to freeze.
