Can a person use textile paint to sponge a stencil design on permanent ugly carpet spots? Anyone tried it?

MY SISTER TOOK RIT DYE MIXED EXTRA STRONG,ADDED WHITE VINEGAR AND SALT TO THE MIX.SHE THEN CUT THE STRINGS OFF THREE CHEAP MOPS SO THEY WERE SHORT THEN SORT OF SPONGED PATTERN ONTO HER OLD STAINED CARPETS.THEY ACTUALLY LOOKED PRETTY GOOD. ALSO SHE HAD A HIGH PILE CARPET IN HER BEDROOM. SHE USED CHALK AND DREW PATERNS ON IT THEN USED SCISSORS AND SOME KIND OF ELECTRIC SHEARS LIKE DOG CLIPPERS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT AND HAD A BEAUTIFUL SCULPTORED CARPET WHEN SHE WAS DONE.MYSELF I CHECKED WITH SOME WEB SITES AND FOUND MOST DYES OR PAINTS WON'T TAKE WITH THE FIBERS AND CURING CHEMICALS THEY USE TODAY.
