I live in an area with a severe deer problem, and have found Liquid Fence to be fairly effective. It must be applied regularly, though, especially after heavy rains. One lapse and --zap!-- those beautiful hostas will be gone for the season! The product is expensive. And toward the end of the season when the deer get really hungry, they'll eat just about anything, treated or not.

I recently switched over to small white bags filled with some sort of repellant sold by a local garden store. I don't know if there's an online source. They've worked so far, although this early in the growing season the deer have plenty of food. So the real test will come later.

Mixed reviews. Some like it, some don't.
