RE: Saving Money on Printer Paper Post By Geistjagerin (Guest Post) (03/03/2008) To save ink (and paper) I use the smallest font on documents that my eyes can tolerate, reduce the margins to 1/2 inch or 1 inch, and use single spacing whenever possible. I also print on both sides. Sometimes I use loose-leaf paper instead of regular printer paper. If I print some document I later don't need, I reuse the paper by printing on the other side. I've heard you can also save on the cost of ink by buying ink cartridge refill kits for a couple bucks, rather than shelling out a lot of cash for a new cartridge. If I don't print on the back of the paper I give it to my lil one and she can color on the back of it and that saves money. when we are done with both sides of the paper, I put it in the recycle bin so it will get recycled. I use that for printing recipes off the net and I print one on ea side. The letterhead part is just at the very top and bottom and doesn't interfere with what I'm printing. I also use it to print lists and notes and such. I will be sorry when I've used up all this paper and it's getting close but perhaps he'll find me some more! Also, it's a thicker grade of paper so I like it real well for my recipes! I have a small packet of paper that I use for special things. Otherwise I use the backs of anything I can find. I have gotten paper from an agency I volunteered at, that were mistakes of something they printed. I used the backs. I have also used papers I have gotten in the mail or in newspapers. And I have gotten handouts from the library and fliers from a local grocery store that were outdated. Anything is fair game if it is the right size. I recycle all of my junk postal mail paper, that is blank on the back side, to use in my printer. I do not have to buy paper for the printer, a lthough it is a small thing, every penny counts. I can recycle my old cartridges and get a free pack of 500 sheets of recycled printer paper. This works great for me. As i have to buy ink almost once a month. I have bought all my computer paper at the second hand stores for years. It's the paper that have the feeder holes so you need to tear off the edges. Just grab about a half inch of them at a time, and separate the pages. It usually sells for $2.00 for a large box. At least in my small town.
