Red Kool Aid on Carpet

The Dawn method is great. I have used it for koolaid, crystal light and even when a blue pin leaked on my floor thanks to Saint Bernard puppy. I have used this same method but with carpet cleaner and it has worked the same so far.

Wow! Every post on here is right on! This is amazing. The only thing I'm going to add it a little more detail. I have a frieze carpet and the peroxide took the red to a light pink, but the pink was way down deep in the fibers. The detergent/water/iron solution is amazing, but first I roughed up the fibers and pretty much saturated an area with the solution, then set an iron on a towel and didn't move it until it stopped steaming. I'm so relieved and thrilled. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I use hydrogen peroxide on my carpet for all kinds of spills/stains. I haven't tried it on Kool Aid, but it's worth a try.

I need advice on getting stains out of carpet. A couple months ago someone got sick on my floor. Please help me to get the koolaid stains out of carpet before my lease is up.

Koolaid stain has been on carpet for months. Kids hid it under a sofa table. Bright red stain. Tried many other cleaners, none worked. Carpet is very light tan. Used the Dawn soap and hot water with iron solution. Stain CAME OUT! It was amazing. Took about an hour or so but it worked. Thanks so much for this tip! (01/20/2007)

Iron Trick

I want to thank you for the great information. I thought the interior of my car was ruined. My son spilled gatoraide on the light tan interior of my BMW and "forgot" to tell me. 4 days later, it had nicely set in. Today I tried the iron trick and boy was I surprised to see it start to banish. I will be taking it in for a professional steam cleaning, but in the mean time, I feel much better. Thank you.
