I have the black plastic ones, but I think metal would be better as they should last longer. I bring mine inside for the winter. But after one summer season outdoors, the stakes are bent.

do you know if those take batteries i hate to sound dumb i have one that went i wasnt sure have no previous exp with them or are they just done with in that case i got them from walmart and was so anxious to use i tore open and set up and threw the stuff directions away in a haste!! lol
