I purchased Kirkland, item #519047, lemon scent, 125oz, Zk0138A8-OK04266, 2/12/11. It has always been a thick white gel, not it is transparent. It is leaving a chemical taste in my mouth. I have to run the dishwasher over and over to eliminate the aftertaste. Please let me know whether this product is defective.

You should ask the service desk at Costco. Tell them you are unhappy with the product, bring back the remainder of the bottle and you will get your money back. Rather than being defective, it's probably been reformulated.
