Triple Chocolate Caramel Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 bottle caramel ice cream topping
  • 6 oz. dark or milk chocolate coating, melted

Directions

Combine butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat well. Combine flour and cocoa; add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Roll into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Using a wooden spoon handle makes a 1/2 inch deep dent in the center of each ball; fill half full of caramel topping. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-18 minutes or until caramel is bubbly and cookies are set. Cool then remove and drizzle with chocolate coating. These are more like candy than cookies.

These sound great! I want to try them, but at the risk of sounding stupid....what is chocolate coating?
