To get really crispy bacon, you can deep fry it! The oil needs to be kept in a different container than your regular frying oil. You can use it to make your hush puppies taste better, though.

Would you tell me what a Hush Puppy is please? Cheers, Wendy

Editor's Note: It is cornmeal dough that has been quickly deep-fried.

You may also use an oven-safe cookie rack over a baking pan, this makes the fat drip off and you still get crispy bacon! I got that idea from Rachael Ray.

You can also get really crispy bacon with less mess and work, by putting it in the oven on a baking sheet. It comes out nice and flat and crispy as can be. If you put parchment paper down first, the paper absorbs most of the grease for easier cleanup.
