Today's Tips
If you have shear curtains and want them a bit darker but don't want to buy more, pick out coordinating material and sew the material onto the back of the curtain. Just measure the curtain to figure out how many yards you need (look for discount material, my local Wal-Mart has material for $1 a yard), Wash and iron material and fold under edges and sew. It's simple, easy, and cheap to fix up curtains and make them darker. By Cali

Use Newspapers as Stepping Stones
Newspapers: We use newspapers (minus the glossy/slick ads) in our garden as stepping stones. If you have a low spot that always gets muddy, you can put down a layered section. Water them and it stays in place. It helps to keep the weeds down too. If you decide to plant something there after all, just pick up the pile, or better yet, slice a round hole in the paper, put the plant in the hole and leave the rest for mulch. By Suzziee

Removing Candle Wax From Furniture
You can remove melted candle wax from a piece of furniture, or sometimes this will even work for carpet, with a piece of newspaper and an iron. Just place a piece of newspaper (folded) over the melted wax area and place a hot iron, on a low setting, on top of the newspaper for 5 to 10 seconds, lift up iron and paper. The wax should have soaked up into the paper and removed it from the furniture. This might need to be repeated a few times. By Lori Bartel

I want to learn how to make furniture with fiberglass. I'm in Thailand so I can't just go to the library or bookstore. If anyone has any tips or a link to a how-to about this it would be great. I am looking for something specifically about furniture not just working with fiberglass in general. Cheers Shannon
