Children love nothing more than to make a mess, even more so when icing and sprinkles are involved. This idea incorporates both a craft and a snack. It's also easy to transport if the party is somewhere other than your home.
You can give each child one large cookie or two smaller ones. The total cost of this party idea should fall around the $15 mark for 10-12 children. By April from Albany, Ga Contest Contender!

Sam (Samara) is a 6 year old Black and White Tuxedo Cat. I adopted Sam for the Humane Society when she was 4 months old. She was found wandering a busy intersection. Sam likes to run around the house (she is strictly an indoor cat.) She looks for bugs on our patio and chases anything that's has the misfortune of flying low. Sam is very affectionate and leery when someone else is in the house. She love her two 62 inch kitty condos, and has one in the bedroom and one on the patio. She would be happier if I didn't have a dog but they are adjusting very well By dacharby from San Jose, CA Contest Contender!

Check Electricity Continuity in Your Freezer If you travel often, even if only for a weekend, there is a chance your electricity may go off. If so, when you get home, you won't know if the food in your freezer has been thawed and then frozen again. In order to know, put 2 or 3 ice cubes in a baggie in the freezer. When you come home, check that baggie. If there is a frozen puddle, you'll know the electricity was off long enough to defrost your food. You may not want to keep those pork chops! With digital clocks being so sophisticated now, they may not blink anymore after a power outage, so the only way you'd know is if you check your little ice bag. Organize Your Pantry With an Inventory List I have a 2-door pantry cabinet with several shelves on each side. A couple of the shelves are pretty easy to organize, like soups on one shelf and canned fruits and vegetables on another shelf. However, I was having a problem remembering on which shelf I'd put many items that I keep on hand. I finally did an inventory of each shelf and listed everything on a piece of paper and taped it to the inside of the cabinet door near that shelf. Now I can scan my lists to find which shelf the item I'm looking for is located. This has saved me a lot of searching time! By Sharon from Poland, IN Contest Contender!

Vitamin E is good inside and out. If you suffer from a skin condition or injury, open an E capsule and rub the oil on. It's quite tacky in texture, so rub or stroke in all that your skin will take and then wrap the affected area overnight to protect your sheets. This works for most skin conditions. Burns and cuts heal without scaring if E is rubbed on them. Even third degree burns can be completely healed without scarring if enough is used regularly through the healing process. My husband has a problem with very smelly feet. I had tried all kinds of powders before I tried this. We were forced to throw his shoes away regularly. This tip works and he is able to keep tennis shoes and boots longer. Place each offending shoe into a plastic bag and place into the freezer overnight. The next day remove from the bag and freezer. Place the shoes outside in the sunlight to thaw, and dry. By Notwrong Contest Contender!

Rate It: Dog Getting Parvo Shot After Having Parvo I just bought a one year old dog and she came down with Parvo the day after she came home. She just recently got the all clear from the vet. Our vet told us to come back when she is one hundred percent better to get her vaccinated. I've been researching about it online and some people are saying that vaccinating a dog after it has survived Parvo could just make things worse. Should I go ahead and vaccinate her? My other dog has been vaccinated, too. Is it still safe to keep him in the house and together with her? By Nguyenn Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf93832614.tip.html

Rate It: Getting Rid of Ants in Kitchen I have had an ongoing problem with sweet ants and can't get rid of them. I tried leaving a cluster of cloves, baby powder, and the supposedly great Protexall Ant Kil, yes, they go to it, but they sit and eat it like I put it there for them to feast on. Nothing has worked, they are only in my kitchen, which I keep spotless, and stay running on my bathroom sink area. I have changed the "glops" of the famous Ant Kil I mentioned and it just seems like a new "glop" of treat for them. Please, help, if anyone knows better it would be so appreciated. Rate It: Home Remedies for Removing Cat Urine Odor My 5 year old cat has just started peeing and pooping inside, in only one spot. She's never done this before. I've used the mixture of white vinegar and water to clean the odor to try stop her and also have sprinkled cayenne pepper over the area. None of these seem to be working. Her situation hasn't changed at all and she is a very happy, well looked after cat. I would like some homemade recipes to try to stop this problem. The room is going to be my daughter's room, so I don't want any chemicals to be used. Please help. By amy101 from New Zealand Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf13640168.tip.html

Rate It: Decorating Living Room with Fireplace, Bookcases and Windows We just bought a new (older home) with a large living room and dining room in an L shape. The living room area is 20 feet long and 15 feet wide. The back wall is a solid wall into the dining room area and I have a large wall unit that I hope will look perfect on that wall. I am stuck however with ideas for the rest of the room, as the room features 2 very large windows facing a beautiful garden. However, on the opposite side it has a floor to ceiling fireplace (not working) made out of some sort of flag stones. On the right side of the fireplace are built in bookshelves which can be useful, but I am at a loss as to how to make this awesome room show off all its great features. I was thinking of putting up pleated window coverings on the large windows and since the windows are waist height maybe place a sofa in front of the window and work around that area with seating. That would leave 3 focal points in the room, the large wall unit, the large windows, and the large fireplace. We still have to purchase new furniture, as our old would not get through any door. We would have to walk through the living to go to the dining room, but we are trying to make this a bit of a more formal living room. We have a den and rec room for visiting children and daily activities. We also have another access to the dining room through the kitchen. Basically I am trying to make this a great looking comfy, but not cluttered room. I do not think that every corner needs to have furniture on it. Correct me if I am wrong, please. We are putting new carpet in as the room has hardwood floors, but I am just not a fan of it. I believe that I can do more or have better ideas when working with a solid coloured area. The walls will be a light taupe colour (the fireplace stones are a greyish colour) and I am thinking of maybe painting them white, it has no shelf. I hope there is someone who can sort of "imagine" our space and has some great ideas, as they are all welcome. Your input is valued and very much appreciated. Rate It: Restricted Water Flow In Washing Machine My clothes washer, a rebuilt, has done us fairly well, but has picked up an issue I'd like resolved. If I wash things in cold water, barely any water flows in and it has taken over 4 hours to do a load of wash today. It's taken longer and longer over the past couple weeks. We are on an automated well system and there's been air in the pipes the last few days, but this problem with the washer has been going on for several weeks and probably isn't connected to the air in the pipes. Will it clear up if I do a warm/cold wash with vinegar, or is this a larger problem? By nekocat from OR Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf42875872.tip.html

Rate It: Removing Latex Paint From Cupboards We recently bought a house where the wood cabinets had been painted white. What we didn't notice until we lived here is that they had been painted twice. The first coat was done properly, oil over primer. The second is latex. No sanding. No priming. We've been here three weeks and it is peeling like crazy. I have gotten estimates ranging from $2,200 to "lady, just replace the cabinets, it would be cheaper". The paint expert at our local hardware store suggested I just peel the latex off, sand and prime, which is the cheapest option, but boring. Any advice?
