Poppy Seed Salad Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp. powdered mustard
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 cups safflower oil
  • 3 Tbsp. poppy seeds

Directions:

In large mixer bowl, combine sugar, mustard, salt, and vinegar. Slowly add oil and beat until thick. Beat 5 minutes more. Add poppy seeds and blend well. Makes 1 quart.

Tip: Poppy Seed Salad Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup salad oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. dry onion flakes
  • 1 tsp. poppy seeds

Directions:

Beat in blender until thick. Add 1 teaspoon poppy seed and mix well. Keep refrigerated.

Recipe: Poppy Seed Salad Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2/3 cup vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. onion juice (comes in a bottle)
  • 2 cups salad oil
  • 3 tsp. poppy seeds

Directions

Mix sugar, salt, dry mustard and vinegar by hand. Add onion juice and slowly add salad oil, beating constantly. Add poppy seeds and continue beating for a few minutes. Store in refrigerator; keeps well. Especially good on fruit salads.

Directions

Place sugar, mustard and vinegar in blender; mix. Continue blending while adding onion juice and oil in slowly. Blend until thick. Add poppy seed and mix. Refrigerate.
