Making Plastic Kids Storage Containers with Chalkboard Lids

I've picked up some peel and stick chalkboard in a roll at Dollarama. You would only need to cut it into the right sized circles, peel off the backing and stick it to your lids. (wish I'd thought of that myself)

You can make your own chalkboards. Just go to Hobby Lobby and get a can of chalkboard spray. I've seen part of a wall in someone's house sprayed with the chalkboard solution and it made a nice memo board. I own a vase that was sprayed with it and sentimental words put on it in colored chalk. It works great and has a lot of useful ideas.
