I received a letter saying that I was getting terminated because I missed my UTR Training. I called the ILWU (International Longshore and Warehouse Union) office in Long Beach, and the representative told me to write a letter requesting an appeal with the ILWU board for another chance to take my UTR training and continue the process as a casual. I wrote my letter and it got denied.
After receiving my letter, I called the office and the weird thing is that my name is not in the system at all. As if I never existed. I still have my casual ID until this day. And I am still trying to get back into the ILWU. I don't mind going through the process all over again because I know it is well worth it. Can somebody or anybody please tell me what do I need to do to apply? I would greatly appreciate it.

I would suggest speaking one on one/face to face with the union 'representative' first and go as high as the president of the union if you need to. 'Do not' turn over any original documents such as the card, class schedule your calendar, etc to them but rather photocopies (show them the originals but give them photocopies). Tell the representative exactly what you explained here. Sometimes you just have to go to the top for help. Stay calm and don't whine. Just state the facts. Please let us know what happens and if this doesn't work please click on my contact button and I'll see if I can find out more info to help you.
