We rescued this Lady in December of 2008 from a dog pound. She is a beautiful 2 year old dog. Her prior owner said she was a Pharoah Hound Mix. She is very active, very smart, well mannered, and extremely affectionate to people. We have decided to take her to a dog trainer who expressed that she didn't think Lady was part Pharoah and thought she was more of an Alaskan Akita mix? Any thoughts? I'm not sure I'm seeing the Akita in her. I'd really love to know more about her history, she really is quite a different looking dog. Your thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated!
The proper name of the 'pharaoh hound' breed by the way is Ibizan, if you wanted to know - your dog is athletic looking and beautiful! Great photos.

Also Pharoah Hounds look like a cross between a Doberman and a German Shepherd. They are so unusually sleek!

http://www.akc.org/breeds/pharaoh_hound/photos.cfm I would say definitely pharoah lab/shepherd mix...so adorable! Akitas have more hair and curly tails, they are not really streamlined like this! Here is one of my shepherds, Give your dear a hug! Robyn

He looks like he has Lab because of the knot on his head and he HAS Shepard ears. He's a real cutie!
