Craft Project: Terra Cotta Pincushion

This is a cute pincushion using a terra cotta pot for the vessel to hold the batting in. You could paint the pot. I chose to decorate it with sewing trimmings.

Craft: Framed Dried Fern

I bought this old frame at a garage sale several years ago for $1 and then I pressed a fern between several pages of newspaper and weighted it with books. When completely dry, I mounted it with sewing thread onto some mat board and inserted in frame. This particular frame has a convex glass but you would not need that because the fern lies flat. Makes a very inexpensive addition to an arrangement.

Craft: Vinyl Wall Accents

Use inexpensive vinyl wallpaper for accents in your room if there isn't enough for your task. Buy it at thrift shops or rummage sales and get creative !

Make your own pattern of find something from many choices of free patterns online and trace it onto the back of the wallpaper (I used pre pasted). Cut out the design or shape and dampen it on the back with a slightly wet sponge (no need to get out the paper hanger toolkit) and apply it.

Mine turned out rather well and, in comparison to the vinyl wall art available to buy online, the price is perfect. My roll cost $1 and there is plenty left for many things ! My junky looking desk top looks great covered with it and I didn't even adhere it due to possibly wanting to change it sometime, just cut it to fit and lay it on ! Use the scraps for crafts, I chose stacked flowers I have punches of in several sizes of the same flower.

Resizing a Large T-Shirt

My son had a large tee shirt he no longer wanted. I wanted to wear the shirt but it was way too big for me so I shortened the hem then rolled up the sleeves and did a fold over of about 1 1/2 inches on the shoulder seam. Once tacked in place I added two contrasting buttons. Now it fits and looks good with jeans.

Craft: America Freedom Flag

This is an America Freedom curtain. It was crocheted in 7 panels. Each of the red panels has a word or phrase embedded in it. I used Filet Crochet to do this. Since it is to go in my husband's tractor trailer, I put his CB handle in the middle panel.

Love me, Love my pets.

Craft Project: Beach Glass Pendant

After finding many pieces of Beach Glass on a trip to Lake Erie, I had to make something with it. I wrapped the glass in a wire and hung it from a chain.

Making a Table Cloth from a Doily Pattern

This is a hospitality doily that I have. Can someone tell me if I can enlarge the pattern to make a table cloth from it? If so, how?

Or if someone has a tablecloth pattern similar to this doily pattern. I wanted a pattern no bigger than 38 inches round in diameter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Craft Uses for Petrified Wood

I found a spot behind my house where someone dumped a load of petrified wood (sandstone not gemstone unfortunately). I would like ideas on what I can do with it. I can't use it as a paperweight as it sheds sand.

Cleaning Artist Brushes

I am an amateur artist. I use acrylic paint. The brushes that I use are nylon bristles. These are smaller brushes, one inch is the largest size, such as the the brushes that are sold by Donna Dewberry. I have other brushes, that cost less.

Anyway I have read suggestions people have written about brush cleaning, Murphy's Oil Soap, hot vinegar, etc. I have stronger cleaners, but would like to hear other people's ideas. Thanks.

Vintage Santa and Mrs. Claus Crocheted Potholder Pattern

I am looking for a crochet pattern for a Santa and Mrs. Santa pot holder set. The faces are pre-made either in rubber or a plastic style and they are both wearing wire rim glasses. It's just the heads and both are wearing hats.

My sister got a set from a coworker approximately 29 years ago for me. Now a friend of mine wants a pattern for her sister who wants to make a few sets for gifts. She is home bodied and needs something to combat boredom. Thanks for any and all your help.
